T3 Turbos -- What Is The Swing Valve Assembly

On the T3 i see what i found to be called the swing valve assembly. What is it and what does it do and where does the hose that runs out of it go? Also, why is it not on The T3/T4 hybrids? I'm planning on turbocharging and would appreciate the help.

This is to sohcem... the ITR is too costly and i want more power potential bro... thnx for the help though...

It's a type of wastegate and if you get a turbo that doesn't use one...there are different kinds. i haven't looked but I'm sure they have an article breaking down the types somewhere around here-or you could ask the manufacturer.
