What good summer work is there? Theres an ice place around that is hiring, but they pay off of commission, and I don't really want that. I'd like to use my license, simply for the experience and the better pay. Any suggestions? I have my Class B, with passenger endorsement, and airbrake restriction, plus intra-state because I'm under 21.

i would imagine hostess is commission

pepsi co and frito lay do well for their employees, at least the ones i know of
but thats also somewhat commission

take a look at the local prisons and see who does their vending machines, its usually labeled on the front of the machine somewhere, or on the food packaging
prisons have more visitors in the summer and their machines need to be filled more often
maybe you can get in at the vending company driving one of the box/panel trucks for the summer

My brother in law worked for frito lay for a few years until he got stupid and fucked it up. I know he was hourly + commissioned, and he was making in the neighborhood of a grand a week. They're also Teamsters (at least in this area), although I'm not sure how easy it is to get hired. My guess would be that they really don't hire seasonal type drivers.

He ended up getting fired for showing up late all the time.

my "father in law" does frito and he averages a good chunk of change
make sure you get hired before july 4th weekend
its a big chip sales event
