Throttle Body Clean out??

Hey Guys,

Quick question, I googled how to clean out my throttle body, but only came up with generic steps to take on how to clean it out. I was wondering if anyone could post some quick instructions on how to properly clean your throttle body. Oh by the way i drive a 99 B18B auto...

step two pick up parts cleaner
step three spray parts cleaner
step four wipe TB

repeat as needed

It's REAL simple. Just be careful when removing the TB if you're planning on reusing the gasket.

If possible, always replace the gasket after removal.

You don't necessarily have to remove the throttle body. You can always just take off the air hose and spray the inside of the tb from there. I did this to my camry, same setup, and it worked great. You don't really have to worry about the dissolved gunk getting into your air intake much. just spray, wipe, spray, wipe, etc. I just held the throttle flap open with a fat wrench to get both sides of it clean. It shouldn't take too long. You might not get it as perfectly clean as if you take the whole throttle body off, but it'll be good enough not to have to worry about it.
