I couldnt hear the outrage because of the loud clapping and cheering she received.
 
This shouldn't even be news.

watch the last 10 superbowl or whatever sports event national anthems and you'll get 10 different versions of it as well.

i am thinking that is NOT the video of the song she sang in her own version??
thats must be from the next night when they asked her to sing it in a more traditional way??

anyone have the video of the singing in question?

I don't find it distasteful at all. If you want to see bad look up the versions Roseanne or Carl Lewis did in the 90s.
 
i'm not really sure how this falls under the racist category though.

just because shes black? i think the reporter tossed that "predominately white" thing in there just to make it more of a story.
they are seeking an apology, not a lawsuit.

and also, the place that she sang has obviously heard her sing it before, or they wouldnt have invited her to sing it, so they knew how she sang it.

i think they should apologize.
