transmission swap

i have a 97 honda prelude automatic, i swapped out the auto tranny with a manual 98 accord F22 transmission, my check engine light is on and doesnt want to go off even when i remove the tcu. need some help ASAP. code comes up tranny bus/communication error.

What do you mean by "disconnect the auto ecu"? You need a manual transmission ecu that's not going to be looking for electronic signals from the transmission. Put a manual ECU in and the CEL should go away...

i have a 98 honda prelude. i just swapped out my auto tranny and put in a gearbox. i am trying to get my car to work with a obd1 ecu. i already have it connected and everything but everytime i connect the battery the car D light comes on like it still has in the auto tranny. so what can i do to put it in park.

is a usdm shift cable for a honda prelude different from a jdm prelude shift cable???

would a manual transmission fit and work directly on and automatic transmission harness, my car was originally auto.
