Transmission ???????

Ok Me and my friend both have efs mine is

89 honda civic ef stock motor d15b2
300k miles
he has

91 honda civic ef stock motor d15b2
175k
He has stock transmission.from what we can tell I do to not sure how to verify but here is what I am getting at.

My gears are different both 5 speed and same pattern of course but I got 50 in 3rd fine his car won't he has more torque in 3rd it's like his gears are for going fast for short shots and mine are for going fast as soon as I get to 50+

Hopefully you all get what I am trying to say.

Could it be that one of us has a si transmission?

Are you both running the same wheel and tire size?

Too bad you guys don't have tachs. Maybe your motor is tired and doesn't pull as hard anymore?

Yah he has a tact I don't My motor is older so it could be needing to get swapped but I am not sure what motor I want to put in it just yet.
