transmission????????

hey guys, i bought a b18c1 with tranny and when i installed it and got it running i noticed that the tranny will not come out of 2nd gear...the wierd thing is, yesterday i went out there and started it up and it went into 1st gear so i drove it down the road and i got 2nd and 3rd and came home. when i shut it off and turned the car back on it got stuck in gear again...wtf?????
