type r tranny vs gsr with lsd

how would a stock type r tranny compare to a gsr tranny with the ITR lsd installed on it? would there be a big difference in performance?

i would think so cause of the tighter gearing. I think you would accelerate faster but then the gas milage goes down on freeway. I just got a tranny with the same gear ratios as a US type R with a LSD. I hope to install it this weekend. ill let you know if theres a big difference from my gsr and this one.

so if i installed a jdm ITR differential into a gsr tranny i would get the best of both worlds? good gearing and the traction of lsd. can anyone confirm this?

If you were to install the ITR final drive into your GSR box you would have tighter gearing then the ITR, hmotorsonline.com sells the final drive package.

JDM ITR - 3.23 --- 2.105 - 1.458 - 1.034 --- 0.787 --- 4.785


JDM ITR still has closer ratios for 2nd and 3rd gear
if you used a JDM ITR final drive in a USDM ITR tranny you would have the same 1st - 3rd ratios and closer ratios for 4th and 5th than the JDM ITR (the same ratios as the EDM ITR)

What years are you talking about? Aren't the 96-98's different than the 99 spec for the JDM?
