ok im purchasing a 1993 eg si and the bottom end or the block itself is bad.. but the head is good.. so imma sell the head and try and get the vti longblock from hmotors...

first question is

1)can i retain the transmission in the car..

2)can i also retain the ecu??

3)what obd is the the vti or how exactly do i go about smogging it... or is it even legal..

and

4) would it bolt in easily???

any help would be appreciated :) :worthy:

decided to give up my ef.. after all the hard work scrubbing baremetal and changing the fuel pump and the fan and the seat belt and old man smell... the list goes on...

wtf is VTI?

You must be from europe somewhere- a vti is the european b16a1/2/3 or b18c4. A VTI on its own doesnt tell us anything is it a 1.8(b18c4) or a 1.6(b16a).
what transmission do u have?(y21+s9b)

etc etc etc etc
