There is no JDM siR from 96-99.PCT is the type R B16B ECU.

My friend imported his civic from Japan and it was imported as a Honda Civic Si-R ( RHD ).

You guys may call it a VTi ( i think ).

anyway it came from japan , it is Right hand drive and it has a B16 . What ECU came with this car

Japanese VTi's have D15B's in them. The type R had the B16B.The B16A was in the civic siR and siRII from 90-95.

Um, sorry dude, but you're wrong.

The ECU is called a P30.

SIR came in many different cars from 1989 to 2000.

Integra XSi from 90-93, then again from 94-97? or 98? I can't remember

and

CRX in 89-91, then again in 92-97 CRX/delSol

also

Civic SiR from 1992 to 2000.

Look before you go correcting people get YOUR facts straight, the siR is a model of car,not a motor, the motor is a B16A/B.
PW0 came in the civic/crx siR from 89-91
PR3,PR3-J00,and the PR3J51 came in the teg xsi/rsi auto and manual versions
P30 came in the siRII and VTi along with the 94-95 B16A3 delsol
PCT came in the ITR/CTR 96-2000
P2T came in the 99-00 si
So go do some research before you correct people, and spreading BS.

Get MY facts straight???

Listen here BUD.

1- I only use SiR as a COMMON name for the B16A. You will also notice I said XSi which also came as a B16A. So don't go there.

2- Show me where I said that a 88-91 was a P30... no, please do.....

3- a PCT is a B16B not a B16A. Please stop putting words in this guys mouth.

4- A P2T is a USDM ecu from 99-00, and furthermore it is an OBD2b.

So go back under your bridge you stupid troll, and let the ECU experts speak.

D15_animal - The ECU you are asking about that matches with a 96-98 B16A OBD2 (NOT 2B) engine is called a P30

Thank you, drive through.

Wow did you read what you posted as opposed to what I posted, hmmm pull your panties out of your ass.

1.siR isn't a "COMMON" name for anything,except a siR.

2.Show you where,ok LOOK at what I qouted you as saying "the ECU is called the P30 for the siR" "the siR came in many different cars from 89-00" so by your own admitance the P30 is the ECU for the siR,which is the term used for the 4th gen siR's 88-91.So there is that

3.No shit,hmmm....yip that's what I said.

4.You said the B16 is the siR and came with the P30,I am trying to get the point across the the siR isn't a B16,it is a car and therefore you can't say "it has this ECU,because it is called this" and that B16A ENGINES came with a variety of ECU's.

5.you're hardly an expert at anything.

6.The engine IS NOT called a P30,it is a B16A,P30 is the ECU and the designation for parts reference, will you get that through your head, before you go off saying some more dumb shit

7.I'm not your BUD,kid,so when you pull your head out of your ass, then you can "drive thru, thank you"

So in closing,YES GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT.

Let's see who can't read.... aaaaaand from the top...

D15_animal said...

then you came in here saying....

There is no JDM siR from 96-99.PCT is the type R B16B ECU.

WELL, first off that is incorrect.

The japanese have more than just the Civic Type R. In fact, the SiR CIVIC with a B16A engine did exist from 96-99.

Now, let's move on, shall we....

D15_Animal says...

My friend imported his civic from Japan and it was imported as a Honda Civic Si-R ( RHD ).

and you say....

Japanese VTi's have D15B's in them. The type R had the B16B.The B16A was in the civic siR and siRII from 90-95.

AGAIN, who is having a problem reading again? Animal said we "MAY" call it a VTi, and he wasn't sure. BUT you were sure to tell him that VTi's came with a D15B, and only "Type R" had the B16B. (Which correctly stated would have been only "CIVIC Type R's" have the B16B engine).

AND again, you are incorrect in your post that the B16A ONLY came in the Civic SiR and SiRII.

Still you have not even tried to answer his question for him, and you are still on the Civic Type R for some ODD reason....

Let's KEEP going shall we???

SO, In I come and see this above... and I say...

Um, sorry dude, but you're wrong.

The ECU is called a P30.

I'm going to stop right here for a sec. In my attempt to answer D15_animals's question, I should have mentioned that the ECU he is looking for is called a P30, of the OBD2 96-98 variety, not just so general.

SIR came in many different cars from 1989 to 2000.

Integra XSi from 90-93, then again from 94-97? or 98? I can't remember

and

CRX in 89-91, then again in 92-97 CRX/delSol

also

Civic SiR from 1992 to 2000.

And what I should have said, since we all need help here I guess, is that the SiR "ENGINE" is most commonly known as a B16A engine

If you say "I got a SiR engine" to MOST honda gear heads, they will instantly think B16A. Just like if you said I have a GSR engine, you INSTANTLY think 1.8L VTEC right?

Enough about that.

Lastly, if you had taken some GRAMMER lessions in school, you would have read my last post more clearly. But since you didn't, I'll seperate the sentance for you.....

D15_animal :stop: The ECU you are asking about that matches with a 96-98 B16A OBD2 (NOT 2B) engine :stop: is called a P30 :stop:

Do you see how I called the ECU a P30 now and NOT the engine?

Lastly, what do you do for a living? ME? I repair Honda and Acura ecu's. I prepare them for Hondata, chip them with custom programs, and I sell them. I'm trained in soldering/desoldering techniques, and I have a degree in network technology and applications.

My hobby is engine building. Currently I've built

4- GSR engines, balanced/blueprinted, complete rebuild. 1 of which is a stroked/bored GSR to 1855cc's
3- LS engines, all motor, balanced/blueprinted, complete rebuilds.
1- LS turbo engine, sleeved, pistons, rods, headwork, cams, springs, retainers, T3/4 hybrid .50a/r boosting 22lbs.
1- Type R JDM Spoon engine installation in a 99-00 si. OBD1-2b swap all sensors intact, passes smog.

Numerous engine/trans swaps

I've chipped more ecu's than I can count, I've been into building/swapping Honda engines since 1995. I remember when a LS/VTEC was called a frankenstein and there were only a handful of us doing it.

How about you? Or are you just an internet tough guy who "THINKS" he knows all about engines.

You want to keep going? I can run circles around you all DAY long and then some.

guys, stop fighting

I'd love to, but I am not going to sit here and be told by someone who THINKS they know what's up, when it's PAINFULLY clear that they are wrong.

WHY someone cannot just say, OOPS I made a mistake, you're right, the ecu you want is called a P30....

I have NO idea..........

I don't like the fact that you, while you may know what you mean, while others will not, calling the B16A a siR,when in fact the siR is a model of car made for ten years in three different OBDs.It contributes to people buying the wrong engine's and parts for there car, just like people saying "dude stick a B16A2 in your 88 civic,it goes straight in."It confuse's and conflicts the truth.

Obviously there are more than just civic type R's,but we aren't talking about tegs, accords, nsx, whatever.

And about VTi's,actually until recently I hadn't heard about the VTi coming with a D15B,since the ones here where I live have B16A1/2 and the 1.8 VTi have the B18C4's.However in Japan they come with a D15B and are a lower model.

As for what I do,I am in the military and cars are a hobby, but I have seen my fair share of motors and the cars they come in,and had my fair share of caked on grime from cramming them in cars they didn't.And I highly doubt you can run circles around me,haha.

So,next time be clear about the motors and I won't argue inane shit.

hey AllMotorMonster . once i buy the chip what else would i need to install it ?
i was told i need a couple of resistors ?
is that all i would need ?
