What is the differance between the d15z1 vtec-e head compaired to the d16z6 or 8y heads? Is it the cam or or port design?

It's actually a different vtec design. The vtec-e was designed with economy in mind. The z6 and y8 have the true vtec that was designed with performance in mind.

yet on both engines you don't get a larger exhaust cam lobe
