what am i supposed to do since i wont have power steering or a/c? is there a special alternator belt that i need? give me some info guys :)

did you look at my title?
im putting an h23 into my del sol. i wont have power steering or a/c. so what do i do about the alternator belt? do they make one for h23's for just the alternator?

Uh, if I remember right, all the accessories are run independently. You should have a belt for each individual component, just don't hook up the other two.

Measure the distance b/n the pulley centers, and the radii of the two pulleys.

The length of the belt you need is

2x the distance b/n the pulleys
+ (pi * Radius of pulley 1)
+ (pi * Radius of pulley 2)

That should give you a length that will fit. Maybe somone out there has already come out with a custom belt, google it up and maybe you will find something. Not too many people on this site go through the pain of dropping a heavy as crap H23 into a del sol when they could drop a b16a much easier and go just as fast.

here we go
thats why i hate posting about doing my swap.everyone always says why. im getting a great deal on it. thats why im doing it, and im helping my friend out because it was his engine.

a b16 does not have even close to the amount of torque that a h23 has. thats another reason. and it doesnt even have to be an h23, it can be an h22, which i know people have done on here. so that why im asking for help.

Call up autozone, murrays, ect, and just ask for an alternator belt, then they will probally ask if you have AC or PS and just say no.

Also, not swap realated.

This is a general Tech question.

why you being like that? i told you the reasons why im doing it....and all the points are valid. you shouldnt get uptight about it. and del slo?! im putting a freakin h series in my 2400 lb car! why are you people on a board if your such jerks all the time :( anyways, it is for my swap, and it cant run without it, and i have called up places, i live in hick country, they have no clue....so yeah....i needed some other help from people who have done this swap

If I remember right, the powersteering is a seperate belt, but AC and alternator are on the same loop. I think your just going to have to measure.

Do it the old fashioned way, string it. And as it says, take a string and run it around the two pullys, measure, and presto..you have belt length. My Unorthodox pully set up didn't come with belts and none of the listed sizes were correct. I had to do this for all of them-it's not hard. Good luck.
