I hope this is the right place for this discussion. If not sorry to waste time.

Anyway, I am wanting to buy parts from some guys on this forum. But they all seem to be Noobs. That makes me a little nervous. I read about that guy who bought a engine and got stiffed for the $1600 buck the seller was a noob. I am only talking $200-300, but if you are like, thats a good chunk of change.

Can anyone give me some questions to ask are some tips to make sure I don't get burned? Maybe a list of people not to buy from?

Thanks for your help!

Mike

just get a valid address and home phone number

and if they dick you, you know what to do

im drunk as shyt right now, so sorry if im uinclear

Hey man make sure they have references from people they have done business with before in the past.

I was too skeptical about purchasing from forums, But I just make sure they references and I haven't been fucked over yet.

Good luck

Just get:
Home #
Cell #
Their Full Name
Full Address
a description of the product
when they mail it, make sure they give you a tracking # and insure hte product to what you paid for it.

I appreciate all of your feedback. As far as other places to buy good used parts, any ideas?

ask for people who can "vouch" for them, its bigger on HT, but people have their own vouch threads, kinda like E-bays feedback...

well, I can tell you, I am not going to rip anyone off and I don;t think there is a more honest guy in the industry.

Yeah but your a vendor, people expect you to be honest. I am more worried about buying used parts from someone I don't know. I would like to think a guy could trust the people on the this forum, but unfortunately, I have already seen that you can't trust everyone. Which sux, because this a pretty sweet forum, lots of great info.
