Widening seats

I am a skinny dude, and my seats are perfect for me. But every passenger I carry bitches about and ultimately winds up damaging my passenger seat

Anyone know how to widen the side bolsters of a seat ? I saw them do it on Monster garage using a trunk jack, but I imagine that would risk snapping some welds.

Any ideas ?

i think i saw that monster garage but im not sure. i would expect you could just remove the seat cover, shave the cushion/foam/whatever, and put it back together. not sure how the fitment would be though.

They put a trunk jack between the bolsters and pushed it outwards. My fear is breaking the welds within the seat. Seems like a monkey way to do things.

Plus, it's Monster Garage. They prolly broke 8 of them between takes and finally got one shipped from Sparco with a custom arrangement. But if anyone has actually done it - I wanna hear about it.
