will 99’ d16y8, 99-00 engine wiring harness, and p2p-c92 99-00 ecu work in 98 dx hatch?

Sorry if this has already been asked, I can’t find it. I have an auto 98 dx hatch with d16y7. pulled the motor and i’m replacing with a 99 d16y8. i bought a p2p-c92 ecu for 99-00, and im looking into a 99’ wiring harness. will this work? i’ve seen talk about needing to require the harness under my dash. thanks

Update: 99-00 wiring harness with the 99-00 p2p will work in a 96-98, but you also need to replace the chassis (under the dash) wiring harness. instead of doing this, i will be swapping the y7 intake manifold and throttle body onto the y8 and using the stock harness and ecu. this effectively disables the vtec and allows it to function as a y7.
