this would be too hard to regulate. there are too many myths out there and not enough facts. it would be a good idea if it worked out though.

yeah blanco is right. its the idiot like me that puts a full kit and badges on their car that gets fucked with. although - i havent been pulled over once since i put the FB, spoiler, and badges on...

no, it's more like idiots like me who thought it was cool to convert a car to rhd. that just screams, "come rape me please".

most people in utah go with the stock look. the cops are sneaky here. they got there own little undercover supd up ricer to catch u.
some with vettes, some with integras, i even seen a guy get pulled over by a supra once.

when i was there they had a camaro and a crx patrolling "the vard"

I was in Salt Lake for work for a while last year and I got harassed all the time...They would pull me over for the stupidest stuff...I even got pulled over going through the Salt flats because the cop "heard me coming"...How the hell do you hear a Civic coming with traffic on both sides of the road and the cop sitting on the opposite side that I am traveling on? They see Civics/Imports, and just assume you are guilty of something, and that could be anywhere...

exactly. especially if u got a badge or an exhaust on ur car that screams "IM A MUTHER FU***N TUNER"

there are no shops that are good, honestly. everyone here just knows a friend that has his/her own garage they swap in. And its even more bad that there are no rotary engine shops around so i work on my rx7 at home.

how old are you?

27.

just wondering if you have been in the scene to remember what was going on when i was there. it was about 5 years ago, so i doubt you went to the races much.

i was known as "the guy who got in a wreck at the races".

regulate used to be the shit. kody's just opened up. kicked it with those guys a lot, then got fucked hardcore. supposed to be my friends too.

im sorry man. everybody that goes there are posers or old wise guys with classics.
back then they used to race california ave.

now days weve been doing sprints. the last race i got together was from the park city outlet mall to the gateway mall in salt lake. every car put in 50$, one driver and one camera man/co pilot allowed per car, any type of car was allowed, first one to the water fountain in gateway one the pot. we had 12 guys. thats a lot of money. :)

things are changing around here. we dont drift anymore, we dont drag anymore, we sprint. the excitement is great. and yes a lot of us got pulled over.^_^

i read that whole thing,
ur like a wise man with a philosophy about everything! its awesome.
imma call u chef blanco, cuz u cook up the best answer/ statement/ whatever u call it:chef:
p.s.
i got pulled over many times but i never got a ticket in my rx7
y? RESPECT

Every town has different statutes. Some towns/cities prohibit loud mufflers, whether its aftermarket or just a leak. When it all boils down to it, it all depends on the officer, whether he feels like enforcing it or not. Once, a police officer told me, the best thing to do when modifying your car, is to NOT make it stand out.

I've never gotten a ticket, or arrested for something I've done in a car. Every time I've gotten pulled over, it's something stupid I've done on accident that they saw. I respected them as it's their job to pull me over for it, and treated them as such, and they've let me go each time with a decent attitude(luckily).
I'm sure it's possible that I might get pulled over one day by a a-hole cop with a bad attitude for a bad reason, but I find that to be few and far between based on my own experience.
And these experiences aren't based on perfect driving, if you know what I'm saying. I just don't drive like a idiot.

I make sure that every one of the MPs here on base know me by name. Not in a bad way, more of in a "he's a pretty cool guy" way.

As far as illegal mods go, everything is illegal, if you dig up the laws. It's just what's enforced or not. Any modification could be considered a modification to the safety equipment, and thus illegal. It's all interpretation, which is where being friendly to your law enforcemnent comes in.
