Red Dead Repemption
Final Fantasy IV

lol @ the Ducks. Bahahahaha

I know we're behind the times, we don't have pro athletes like the Buckeyes

you find these people to be awesome or high quality?

also, the 2jay-z made me lol
and thats just about the most random list of shit i have ever read
animal from the muppets really topped it off nicely for the off the wall factor

Or heisman winners, or national titles... And if that were true, they'd be the ONLY division 1 school without "pro athletes." lol

Totally thuper uniform design team though. No one can take that away from them.

Oh sorry, no I think it's awesome that they don't understand their own irrelevancy... or at least entertaining. Have you ever seen a truck sale commercial in the south? I have seen more appeals to intelligence in Playschool's ads...

We're Nike's testing ground. That stuff you call "Pro Combat" is the stuff we call "last generation." We only wear them as an advertisement for Nike, our regular uniforms are actually the second generation of pro-combat which isn't available. Don't hate, or do, it's nice to know we are doing well enough to attract haters.

So keep your silly traditions, and while you are wearing 80 year old duds out on the field as some tub o' guts dots the "I" in Ohio, as he plays the horn of chastity, we will be doing something relevant.

Cobain couldn't play Avenged Sevenfold's stuff on Guitar Hero, let alone Guitar. He is labeled as a revolutionary because he pointed out the commercial shallowness of bands like Warrant and Winger. Retrospectively, that's not such a huge accomplishment. Just because disco likewise sucked doesn't mean we treat the first person to turn pop culture away from it like Leonardo Di-fucking-Vinci.

Cobain wasn't even the best front man in Nirvana, Dave Grohl (and I'm only lukewarm on the Foo Fighters but its true) is 100X the singer and musician that Cobain was.

You dont have to be talented to be a popular musician. You just have to be in the right place at the right time.

It was a joke* I actually like the designs of some of their uniforms (black/green, and I think the all white one?), but was saddened to hear we were adopting the pro combat line into our standard uniform. I think they look lame honestly. But you're right, you guys have been doing well enough lately to have been heard of by people outside your conference, kind of like TCU. Haha
* = Much like Oregon's football team.
:p

so how do you get in that "right place"?

by working hard and getting in shows. performing in front of people who have an influence. the harder you work and the harder you perform, the more business you get.

look at lady gaga. i personally hate the bitch, but she wrote hundreds if not thousands of songs before she was "famous". she was a ghost writer for the longest.

look at britney spears. she has less talent than the toenails i clipped this morning. but back then she worked hard. dancing, performing at shitty malls, etc.

Smells like Teen Spirit came out when I was in high school. It was WAY different than anything else.

Gansta Hip Hop was the craze and Metallica (enter sandman) became a household name (now that's conformity). Nirvana was so different (to non-Seattle residence). It was more poetic in its meaning. They did a great job on MTV unplugged too. Will Cobain be remembered like Jimi? No......he was a poet and revolutionary to rock and roll first.......cuz what if 6 was 9?

I hate conformity but if Dexter is such things........I am on the band wagon!
But.....if Dexter is making me society's puppet.......then so is the show Breaking Bad.
And every Tosh.0 episode/season is winning! Cannonball Dukie!

That MTV unplugged show they did is my favorite from them.

I too grew up on Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and hip hop. I still rock the Ten album in my car.

Ten is the ONLY Pearl Jam CD

their greatest hits CD should be Ten and maybe 5 other songs that they have released since then

Everything you need to know about Cobain's abilities, rather than his marketing hype, can be explained by this: During the high water mark of MTV's "Unplugged" series they asked Cobain to show up and play acoustic guitar, he brought a second guitar player with him.

This is common as hell. Alice in chains brought in 'scotty' on their unplugged set as well, and yet Jerry Cantrell is often regarded as one of the top 50 guitarists of all time.

songs have layers and tracks, and one guy simply an't play them all at one time.

You'd probably be shocked at how many bands play live that have backing tracks on cd in the background.
Even crazy talented bands like Periphery that have 3 guitarists use backing tracks because people demand a live show to sound exactly like the record.... and that fucking sucks IMO.

LOL

Yellow Ledbetter was the only other Pearl Jam song missing off the Ten CD. :p

That's very true, but you conveniently failed to address the other half of my statement: jerry Cantrell wasn't unintentionally muting chords...

so how do you get in that "right place”?

Elvis, the beatles, and michael jackson all sang the right songs at the right time in history. If they had appeared a few decades from their actual days of stardom, they’d never have been as popular or appealing as they were....

... just like lady gaga is perfect for today’s mass of idiots.

There are plenty of talented, hardworking artists that just dont [didnt?] play the right song for the time they live in. These people will never be famous.

lmao, dude, you just described "pop music" by definition. obviously it was "the right place and the right time" because it's pop music. hahahaha odds are, they would have done different music.

Pop music (a term that originally derives from an abbreviation of "popular") is usually understood to be commercially recorded music, often oriented towards a youth market, usually consisting of relatively short, simple songs utilizing technological innovations to produce new variations on existing themes. Pop music has absorbed influences from most other forms of popular music, but as a genre is particularly associated with the rock and roll and later rock style

I think we can all agree that this is the best picture, ever, dealing with AW.
