9200 miles llater, back in miami!

I'm back to the United States. As most of you know I left Thursday of last week to drive to western Canada for some camping. I ended up in Jasper and Banff Canada in the national parks. The Canadian rockies are awesome for this sort of thing. Camping wasn't that bad as temperatures were about 40 in the mountains. Gas was very expensive in Canada, I paid just a bit over $5 a gallon in remote locations. The expedition now shows 179,000 miles on it, it averaged 20.1MPG city and Highway. Mostly highway! Was it a long drive? Well, we drove 2 days straight without sleeping to end up there, it took 2.5 days to get home. I encountered bears, moose, elk, etc on my journey and have pics of everything. I will be uploading them as we speak. My gas was about ~$1500 USD

Awesome pictures! Who did most of the driving? What kind of camera did you use?

I did most of the driving actually LOL, we split with my brother but id say I did 80%. It was a long drive for sure. Its a cannon IS S3. The pics are amazing actually, i just sized them down and reduced the quality so I could post them. Actual they are like 4.7 megs each.

Cool! I'm in the market for a camera, and I've been looking pretty heavily at the S3 IS. The only problem is that Canon doesn't make an underwater case for it...

I think its a good camera for the money, I think I paid $309 for it on sale at circuit city a few months ago. Hasnt given me any problems, I also bought a super type 3 or whatever SD card so the wait time between pictures is pretty much non existant.

Awesome. If it's down to $309, that's a LOT cheaper than I was seeing a while ago! Time to pick one up...
