my mechanic "friend" left for miami for 2 weeks and cant finish my tranny/oil leak work that he has been trying to finish for 4 MONTHS, so i have to finish it my self after long stress full days at the office. because my wife is going back to work and the altima is in dire need of a clutch and timing chain..

OHH! whats this?

my tool box is gone... WTF? (i keep the essentials in a box)

well my garage was left open by my mom when i had my baby & i was not home...
so my box was stolen and machanic is not available and i frankly dont want him around for now.
What to do?
yesterday i started calling around to all the shops i know and not one would do the job. one of them wanted 20hrs @$80, so i had to take it to a small local auto service place. that i would normaly not like to take

ive had tires installed by them and he always has cars. he doesnt specialize in any one car but he is always busy and never heard one bad thing about them. its him another guy and his wife(office wrk) in a two bay shop.

650.00 i should have it by thursday

so i need new tools, cant buy the bike for another month but i should have my car in one pice and ready for tint and stealth alarm install.

she just went through the cancer thing so she is taking meds for that and her fibromyalgia and fell fell asleep and did not remember to shut the garage..

moral of the story, don't have kids. ;)

j/k. tools are replaceable, don't get too mad at your mom, just put them on your christmas or birthday list.

you could try to get a loaner set from autozone?
or go to homedepot or sears and buy a shit set for 20 bucks

word.. its better to throw away $20-30 on cheap sockets than throw $650 to a mechanic

do people in florida just not have tools?

i mean, when my tools got stolen, i had 3 friends i could go to get anything i needed for my car.

Hey, this place is in NJ, but they have online order forms and they ship pretty quick. Any tool you need, they have it and for a sweet price. I've bought tools from everyone, mac tools, snap-on, matco etc. I even get 50% off from all of them, but I still end up paying more with the 50% off than I would from these ppl straight up and the tools are pretty good. Try them out. Ive spent about 1200 there and I have about 6k worth of tools (equivalent to matco). Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

Harbor Freight FTL. I've broke almost everything I bought from there. Now, I just go to Sears(Craftsman), Advance Auto(Ampro), or Northern Tools.

husky = stanley. I'm a Husky guy, but a lot of my stuff was the old school Husquavarna stuff (Husky, get it?) Since Stanley bought them out, and I've sent a few tools in for replacement, I have the newer Stanley stuff. But Stanley is centered out of a distributor around the corner from me, so I go straight there for replacements.

Look at tag sales this year. I get most of my stuff from tag sales. Also, ChrisM has managed to quadruple my tool collection in one foul swoop, which is why if a Nuke ever goes off, Chris is welcome in the Bunker.

the point is that the took my tq wrench and timing light & my mostly snap on stuff ive been buying here and there $300+

also 650 to have the work done by thursday when i need the car by friday/sat and not have to worry about anything, is ok by me. it does feel weird to drop the car off at a placel, this is the first time.

i went to the shop and they had the main seal replaced and the clutch on the typeR flywheel which only has 6 bolts for the PP and they did not know if they could install it like that.

i could not stop by the dealer to buy MTF so i bought the penzoil syncmesh stuff for now.
will this mess with the LSD at all?

i always use 10w30 in hondas trans

pennzoil should be alright but most people use the GM syncromesh with friction modifier

well they finished the car a day early and every thing looks good. ill have to go back over everything

new CC clutch 6puck sprung
gsr tranny with quaife lsd new seals
gator axles
new main and rear seals

DONE! at home waiting for me as i type this....

i found a new shop for my major stuff

I have to take trips to the states every year or so, and bring my craftsman tools that I've broken to get replaced. They will only replace them in a store, no mailing or phone calls. "We support the Troops" my ass.

harbor freight tools is an awesome place never had any problems with any tools I have bought from there. never broken any tool from there, yet I have broken craftsman sockets, and adapters.
