its a shop that all they do is honda. SS Imports in portland,OR i would imagine they know what they are talking about since they are obviously making a living and OWN the shop. the way you guys are talking makes it sound like it makes NO power after 7,800 rpms as in the car should be slowing...
well it does. but that's kinda.....? besides the point. yes i would say it easily revs into the 8's and can go into the 9's........ and as some of these guys are saying "it doesnt make power that high" i say ride in a car with a B20/vtec swap that revs into the 9's (since nobody on here really...
it seems to make plenty of power ALL the way up to 9000rpm's. the shop that got the bottom and top end for him said he CAN rev up that high no problem. they even have his engine under warranty and they sold him the ecu that lets him rev up that high. the shop said "yes you start getting into...
since you said it is wrecked is the down pipe on the exhaust smashed? if it smashed really bad it wont let your car start (to much back pressure) just a thought.....
C.E.L'S= Check Engine Light's (the "S" comes from the end of the word "Light's") (just had to make sure you knew where that came from......sadly some people get confused)
my brother in law is running b20/vtec swap and hes reving up to 9200rpm's. running stock internals with a gsr head on it. i dont see why you shouldnt be able to do that safely.
so im wondering what compression ratio a B17 with a JDM b16 head would yeild?
also what would a B20Z with a gsr head have?
the B17 stock is 9.7:1
and the b20z stock is 9.6:1 i think?
whoops sorry thought i put that in. yes i do have a code 23. i checked the knock sensor this morning and it was loose, would that make it throw the code?
you have to go to a acura dealership to get the anti theft code. it takes about 20 minutes for them to get you the code.....i dont remember it costing any money but it probably did.
so i did a B17 swap into my delsol and im running a jdm p30 ecu (i know its jdm it came from japan with my jdm b16 head) so i wired the knock sensor into the ecu at pinout C2. the knock sensor was used but the guy said it worked when he took it out. Is there a way to test the knock sensor to see...
dam dude. i just read that end from end, and i have to say.....im glad i just now found it or i would have had to wait for each update like all you guys. But anyways that is gonna be an amazing sleeper, people are gonna be so confused when you pass them.
well ya i forgot to put in without your ecu changing your timing due to your engine knocking. but thanks for the response. i wasnt looking to go much higher then 11:1 but 11.5:1 is good for what ten ponies comparied to 11:1?
thanks for all the great info you guys this will help alot....exept i keep finding pistons that say they are for B16, B17, B18 but they have a bore of 84.0mm...... im lookin on ebay tho.
what is the highest compression i can go to and still run premium pump gas? ive heard everything from 11:1 all the way up to 13.5:1. nobody seems to have a clear answer.
ok well then i guess that makes things easier. so would it b possible to take a B18 crank and put it in my B17 and essentialy make it stroked to a 1.8 litre? or would there be more to it?
so since you listed that the B16 and B18 have a 81.0mm bore size then the b17 would also since its between them? and just to make sure i got this all right the B16, B17, and B18 the only big diffrence between them are diffrent crankshafts to give them more displacment?
so im looking at pistons to buy and its listing diffrent mm sizes. theres 84.0mm 84.5mm and 85.0mm so im wondering is 84.0mm the stock size and the 84.5mm and 85.0mm is for bored over engines or.....what? i thought when you bored a motor it went by .20 over and .30 over and so on? also if the...
so i was just wondering if i could go to a junk yard and just buy all the rear suspension stuff off a si del sol and swap it on to mine so i have rear disk brakes? is this possible? if so any modifications or it basiclly just bolts up?
