Vtec def adds power especially in comparison to a regular head, the only difference between a vtec head and a non vtec is non vtec injects feul consisitantly throughout its rpms, but a vtec head injects more feul at higher rpms. So how could a non vtec head be considered more powerful?

I have a spare 91 civic hatchback ecu should i swap it into my 90 CRX hf? Are there risks to the engine? Would it improve performance? Would it degrade reliablility?

Check your timing, and your idle settings, in some cases the problem could be caused by your computer, but odds are thats not the problem and instead you should check out your feul pump. Does it sputter out when you give it the gas?at higher rpms?
