    If you want to spend $1000 on a z6 and si tranny converted to obd1, I'll sell it to you. I see z6's all the time for 300-400, si trannies for $100. Unless you plan on paying $400 for a p28 you can do it for well under $1000.

    I don't know about alot faster....I had an 88si with y8 I/H/E, my good friend had an 89 hf DOHC zc I/H/E and we ran dead on everytime. 9.68-9.72's. I put on a small turbo and he sold his car. Personally, I'd use the d16a6 with a cam and boost.
