98 Accord Vtec. Over heated pretty bad last night. Now the power windows/locks wont work. Tried to start it and nothing happens. Any suggestions? On the second click sometimes the dash lights come on...sometimes just the oil/ABS/Key lights come on

On good start ups theres no white smoke, no "head gasket" smell and it runs very good. On that retarded start up...white smoke, stinks and drives like crap. As of last night its now starting to hesitate going into second gear. Can the gasket issue effect the tranny?

Anyway to ease the issue until I can get it done? If I open the radiator cap and add a little more coolant its starts up again fine. I guess...im releaving the pressure????

Thanks...I'll make sure its done before putting it back together.....Also, will a head gasket issue effect the car from starting properly...Basically, the car is fine at initial start but say I go to the store when I try to restart the car it takes forever to kick over and runs poorly

OK guys, still got my 94 but just picked up a 98 Accord LX V6/Vtec....The dash lights are really dim, and YES I have it set at the brightest. Light behind temp gauge and behind mileage actually went out yesterday...How do I change these bulbs? Oh....same thing with the CLOCK...lights out on...

Yea...I def dont want it to get worse. Right now its like slush. The temp this morning was 16 degrees, going up to 47 today, but tonight will go below freezing again. Someone told me to put some hot coals under the engine to slowly warm the block. Should I even attempt this?

Thanks f22b1, you always give good advice....Anyway, did the oil change and light went off ...for about a week. Now its starting up again, but only about twice a week. The oil honestly wasnt changed for about a year! so I think it was pretty gunky. Would putting the new oil in loosen anymore...

Ok guys..yet again, another issue with this damn car. Last week the oil light came on so I added 2 qrts (VERY slow seep from the oil pan gasket) brought it to the correct level, possibly about a centimeter to high on the dipstick. Anyway...everything was fine. Now this week the oil light began...

How can I tell if I need a new TCU or if the tranny is going. Got a 94 Accord (auto)...shifts pretty hard and seems to stay in gear for too long. RMP also goes crazy (up & down) when slowing down from higher speeds.

As stated ^ the water pump is new and the car cools when driving due to the air flow cooling off the radiator like the fan would do. Will keep u guys posted....
