I wouldn't give him more than $1800 for it, and that's only if the body has NO rust, NO dings, and was very, very clean.

I just pulled this out of the local classifieds, I know they are not all Si's, but this gives you an idea...

1990 CIVIC

1990 CIVIC
4spd, hatch, air, CD player, runs gd, ext very gd, some tears in frt seats, worth a look, $1777

1989 civic si

Oh, and might I add that one of my teachers just picked up a 91 si hatch with about 130k on it, a little rust, and the drivers seat is torn to hell from the seatbelt, for $800 bucks. He ordered a bodykit for it and is going to get some wheels. I tried to talk him into swapping it, but he has 2 porsches for when he wants to go fast, this is just going to be his winter beater, and he wants it to look cool. He is like over 50.

Around here...stupid city...I've never seen a Civic, no matter what year/condition/mileage for under $7k. Even for the base models with plastic hubcaps I still see rediculous prices on the windshield.

What are you doing, going and looking at Honda Certified/Brand New Vehicles?? No matter what year/condition/mileage??

Hmmmmmm, I would have to call :bs: on this one. Yes, I see people advertising rediculous prices on civics around here, like 4k for a 92-95 hatch, or 2500 on an 88-91, but I honestly doubt they are getting that. As for $ 7k?? Not too many older Hondas are worth that, and the fact that you've never seen a civic for less that that just blows my mind.....

No....I don't go to look at honda certified vehicles...so call the BS if you want...but for some reason you keep arguing with me without really knowing the whole story. The City I live in has 21 used car lots, not to mention the larger city I live next to which has God knows how many... Everyday on my way to work I drive by about...10 different lots. There's a 93 Civic DX 5 sp 4 door for sale and they want $7999 for it, I also seen it in the paper for $8999 when they first got it at the lot.

Cars here are rediculously overpriced. I've never seen an Escort (GT, Wagon, LX or Pony model) with a FS sign for less than $1000. I know for a fact that 2nd gen GTs won't even fetch that, and those are the "top of the line" models.

Just because people advertise shit like that doesnt mean they are getting it. Arent there any beater hondas where you live?

What do you mean by beater hondas? Most of the ones I've seen are in very very good shape body wise, never seen one for sale on any lot with any rust on it. But they do have a lot of miles on them.

Your all gay, I bought my hatch for 200 bucks, it ran too. Bitches.

lol I wish I could find a deal like that.

You bought your car from a private seller though didn't you?

ya it was a shell, the motor was shot pretty much, it ran, barely. it was supposed to be my project drag car until i lost it.

cool cool. how'd you lose it though? wreck it or something? i did that to my first car...i'm a moron. :D

I plan on making my GT a street legal drag car...that's gonna take a lot of cash i don't have though right now. plus i gotta find a second car first :p

I'd be all over that if we lived closer.

How many miles on it and how does it run?

if I had the time to go up there and the $500 saved up...i'd be all over it too.

Pretty good deal, unless it has about 200k miles on it.

the car I believe has some where around 132xxx it does run but leaks a little oil from the sesor in the back of the motor....my buddy was working on it again today, maybe he fixed it.

it appeared to be the stock D16A6. He rev'd the car up to 8K a few times for me and it sounded really sweet.

8k rpms on a stock d16a6? and he was trying to sell you the car while demonstrating this? wonder what he does to the thing when hes not in front of people he is trying to sell it to. I would have to say buyer beware on this one, even if the price wasnt so incredibly high. just my .02
