79Civic
is now Color Coated
so heres the deal, when it comes to hondas im very new at them, ive never really liked them untill now so im learning. so bear with me lol.
i have a 79 civic im doing as a street/drag project. and of course it needs an engine swap.
i want a DOHC vtec. thats my only requirments. but im not made of money.
i can get a h22 for half the price of a b18. so im learning towards a h22, but i have a few questions on it.
the physical size. how long is it, how tall is it, and how wide is it compared to a b18. is it about the same size? bigger smaller? what.
its got more HP but ive heard it weighs more, but im not going to run AC or power steering or any of that, just the basics to make the motor run. im trying to save weight here. so if i scrap all of that, is it still going to weigh that much more? i heard 60 pounds running all the power and ac, but like i said i dont know.
i plan on leaving the motor pretty much stock, headers, exhaust, intake, maybe a vtec controller and thats about it. 200+ in a 1000 pound car is already around the 12 second range.
so anyone have any opinions on this, will i be fine with the h22, or should i really try to find a b18.
or any other suggestoins? thanks guys, and i have my fire proof suit on just in case, but please dont flame me lol.
