So i know from what i gather from the people i've talked to the problem with underdrive pulleys is that it can wear out the alternator prematurely. No one said anything about wearing out the bearings or damaging the oil pump.
(btw im talking about putting it on a b16a)

sorry about my wording.. this is technically a question but was worded poorly.. also the pulley im talking about looks basically like this ... if that helps.

That's a crank pulley. Probably doesn't have a harmonic dampener? No good.

If your questioning how an underdrive pulley can hurt something, just look at how gearing works. Your not changing the rotational time of one side, so the other is either going to increase or decrease speed, and that's a different duty cycle on the alternator for instance if your being bare minimum. Spin less, create less power, spin more, wear out the parts quicker, if we were going to make an educated assumption.
