E and I and a couple other non-HS'ers went on a deep fishing trip this weekend. We left friday night at about 1030 from port judith RI, and got to the spot around day break sat morning. We took a 115' boat out with 35 people + 5-6 crew members. I don't have too many pics, mainly because I slept a lot. lol I had a rough time friday. Not quite sea-sick (wasn't throwing up) but it was damn close. I had to stay out side. and it was pouring rain out. it sucked. Whenever i went inside i got isntantly dizzy and had to go back out in the fresh air. I finally forced myself down into steerage to sleep and made it through the night ok. After that, I was good for the rest of the trip.... but man, that first night kicked my ass. Sat, I was good most the day but grew a bad headache by sundown due to being in the salty sunny air all day. I did catch my fish though I passed out for 12 more hours after that. lol All in all, I had a good time. I'm not sure if i'll be doing it again, solely for the friday night sickness. Man it was aweful. It's ABSOLUTELY beautiful out in the middle of nowhere. We saw some whales. I tried to get movies/pics of them, but my camer is just too slow (takes 2-3 secs to start recording...) so if you see the splashes in the movies, that was the whall landing from its popout Shamu style Captain said he hasn't seen that in 20 years of commerical fishing this area. So, it was a rare and awesome site to see. Dolphins led us out and we saw more around the fishing banks. The fish on the floor is what I cought. ~35 lb albacore. Most of the fish cought were 30-50 lbs tuna. Everyone on the boat got at least one, so all in all it was a good trip. I'll be doing 1-by-1 pics per post to keep it easy to follow. first on thi post is the rough map of where we were. They don't allow gps on the baot, nor tell you exactly, due to keeping their lively hood in check, but thats the rough guess. mostly south from port and a little east. ~7-8 hours at 15-ish or so knots.
