haha I don't pick according to what others pick... I pick prior to even looking at anyone elses. :D

yeah man, people who make picks based on what others made is lame. dont worry bout me, i picked Tenn.

you never know man. I have a feeling that Young is due for a break out game, and what better than to do it at home against mcnairs old team.

why not take the chance?

Vince Young is due for a break out game but IMO it won't be until he learns a different throwing technique. If you actually pay attention to him while he is throwing the ball, he cocks(sp? lol) his arm back so slow then throws it from his chest and it gives the CB's and Safety's an extra split second jump to get into the passing lane for an interception. Unless he speeds up his throwing procedure, I don't think he's going to have any really big games unless the other team has completely horrible CB's.

he only needs to fix his technique if he wants to be a pocket quarterback. if he wants to run and shoot and risk injury then his 3/4 delivery will be fine. when he is out of the pocket, receivers break routes and his velocity is enough to beat most DBs. but you are correct, if he wants to be a successful pocket quarterback, he will need to make adjustments. and i'm sure in a couple years he will.

Well, in this point in time in the NFL, being a pocket QB is what wins. Look at Michael Vick, most mobile QB in the history of the NFL, and look at what is going on with the Falcons. They are so up and down this season it's rediculous. Look at a slighty more pocket QB, yet still mobile, Donovan McNabb...He took his team to the SB but couldn't get passed a QB who is nothing but a pocket QB in Tom Brady. I'm not saying mobile QB's don't have success, just that their track record doesn't show too many SB rings.

Yes I understand that other things happen that is out of control of the QB's hands and that there isn't really a lot of mobile QB's compared to Stationary QB's but you know what i'm saying...

i'll take a pocket qb any day of the week. i think the difference qbs have to get use to is the fact that lb's run 4.6 40's and they just can't be run around like they can in college.

football in T-minus 9 hours.

God, I love Sunday. Let's go Giants!!

Games on here, Eagles at 1, Dallass at 4?, Giants at 8. Should be a good day.

vosty and nick havent submitted picks....
got mine in at the last minute. i thought i would give 2000si a 7 point lead before i got serious about this. i have 8 weeks to turn it around.

actually, the only way i'll win is if more people don't post. haha, everybody needs to go 0-16.

Oh man I'm already pissed about the Indy/Buffalo game.

They showed a replay of Indy's Defense putting constant pressure on the QB, and during the slo mo you saw an offensive lineman grab Dwight Freeney's facemask.

where the fuck is my damn penalty!!!

next year i think we should make our calls based on the point spreads. that will make it really interesting.

How does that work, exactly?
lets use cleveland vs. atlanta for this weeks example since there is a big point spread.

atlanta is favored by 8.5 (it has to be .5 because there has to be a winner and a full number could result in a tie).

if you pick atlanta to win, they have to win by at least 9 points. so to win the odds ATS (against the spread) the score would have to be 9-0, 21-10, 35-20 or something that has a 9 point victory.

If you pick cleveland to win, they only have to cut the gap. If you pick cleveland and the final score is 21-14 Atlanta, you win because you beat the spread. Cleveland doesn't even have to win the game.

If cleveland wins outright, you obviously win that way to.

The lines appear like this....

Cleveland 8.5
@ Atlanta -8.5

For some reason the favorite has the (-). I dont' know why, but that's how it works. That's how casinos and bookies make it fair. it would be too easy too pick straight up. well, for us anyways it isn't. so they make the spreads.

hrm... yeah... don't think I could handle figuring all of that out.

Did you guys see the Bengals/Chargers game? FUCKING choke artists man! Bengals had a 21pt. lead going into the half and lost 49-41. This is some bullshit.

it's pretty easy. "do you think atlanta will win by 9 or more?" yes or no. if no, you pick cleveland.
Come on hawks. Get it going!
+1 GO HAWKS!!!!
