Hi im knew to hondaswap and i would really appreciate some help with my car. This is everything there is about it so far.
b18c1 block w/ b16 head
gsr tranny
itr cams
arp head bolts
dc sport header
apexi cat back
mugen chipped p28
v-afc(untuned)
I really want to make this car a clean looking fast honda about 10-11 seconds(non-turbo) but ive been hearing there are some problems with this engine setup. Like oil problems and such not exactly sure. Im looking about dropping about 8-10 grand into the motor/tranny and would really like some help with suggestions and parts to make this car move. Im already thinking about boreing the engine out to a 2.0 and such but ANY suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated. Im also sorry if i posted this in the wrong forum like i said im a newb to this forum. So thanks alot guys and or girls. :)
 
humm very possible. let me the first to ask and make a suggestion. sell the motor and everything. get a k series and with left over thousands,get cams,springs retainers,p&p, maybe higher compression blah blah blah all the good stuff that you want for all motor. 5 grand in a k series motor can make it to 11 seconds. that is....... in the right car.
Is this a daily driver or weeken worrior?
OK if you dont want the K motor. This is what i have done to my lsvtec and some that i wish i could do if i had your money

Head:

professional P&P,high flow intake manny, stage 3 cams ( i like Toda,crower, i have skunk2 stage 2 and love 'em), Definitly get dual valve springs/retainers. I'd get valves(as long as they wont break off when they hit)
As far as the block i would make that fucker bullet proof. make sure you get high flow oil pump ,water pump, etc to keep that motor flowing right. then i would get a lightweight crank, H-beam rods,HIGH comp pistons. I would go 12.1 if you have someone that know what they are doing when you tune it. Get it sleeved. If you bore the motor to a 2.0 that would be a better reason to get this new stuff. I have the Eagle forged kit with JE pistons. Get it tuned VERY CAREFULLY. Hondata,crome,etc do the research to choose YOUR best option. Get a quaife lsd in you tranny and see what it runs!!!

OHHH by the way you might want to either get a 88 crx to putr that motor in or get rid of everything in that integra ( i'm assuming since you didnt mention the car) from the interior/trunk/seats carpet, you name it. your gonna need all the help you can get to get in to low 12's let alone 11's.

well thats what i would do. Peop;e are going to post their dream motors so your gonna get alot of ideas. Just remember IF YOU WANT A RACE CAR BUID A RACE CAR,IF YOU WANT A D-D BUILD A D-D. Both do not mix. I dont think you make a honda an 11 second daily driver. that is with A/C,power steering,good idle and somewhat good gas mileage. not happening
 
i never heard of having oil problems with a b16 head and gsr block, currenty I am doing the same build, this morning I took my block and head to the machine shop. to have them redo the bottom end and check the head to make sure I didnt do any damage to it when I seized my b16 bottom end
 
i just threw my suggestion cuz i was too broke to get a type R oil pump on my ls block. I do however have the gsr water pump. lmk if you hav any leftover good parts for sale, from your siezed block that is.

Im looking at having a nice daily driver. And the car it is in is a 99 civic ex coupe. Mint car 90,000 miles on the car. 40,000 on the motor. Keep the stuff coming guys i really appreciate it im putting my 92 civic on ebay today if you guys want to check it out or are interested in it let me know. www.cardomain.com/id/greenwizard85 thats my baby that im selling to make this daily driving monster.
 
oh and lol taco as far as you were saying about the power stearing and a/c and such fuck that stuff my civic i own now doesnt have that crap power stearing is for pussies :) lol
 
Oh and another thing i have NO idea about any of the ecu stuff concerning hondata i know of it read about it but it confuses the hell out of me. And im planning doing almost all toda parts in my car. Planning on dropping 2200 on that SWEET and SEXY toda sports injection, cams, titatium retainers, valve springs, clutch kit, fly wheel, cam gears. :) I cant wait to get this beast started.

may i thread jack for a moment? thanks:D I need a crank man.Ls crank. whatever fits the ls rods. Im asumming only the ls crank.

man an allmotor 11 sec car? kinda hard man. your talkin about high. wait..HIGH compression and lots of fuel. lots of air flow to the head. strong block to hold all that pressure and rpms. i dont think its possible to make it a dd to be honest. once you start messing with the cams your prolly gonna get choppy idle. loud as fuck if you ITB's. good luck man.
 
p/p head , springs / retainers , intake , 650+ injecters , rods , high comp pistons like 12+ , good tuning
 
Don't buy all Toda parts. They are good don't get me wrong but for the money you can get parts that will out perform for less money. For a daily driver I would stay away from the "sports injection" aka individual throttle bodies. They may make a little bit more power than a manifold but not much more. ITB's are much harder to tune also
 
I thought 99 ex had power everything, windows, sunroof, door locks. You should have started with a lighter car to begin with, like an eg hatch or crx.

just save 9k and do a nice FI set up in an ek and your good 10's all day... dreams are cheap, raccing is expensive
