not to thread jack or anything but if I wanted to put ubuntu on my laptop would I have to burn it to a disc or could I just save it to an external hard drive and open it from there and just boot the os from there
That trojan really isn't that hard to deal with. When it gives you the security pop up instead of clicking try to controlaltdelete and it should let you see the task manager. you can kill it there. otherwise load malwarebytes onto a usb drive turn off your restore points and run a quick scan. Make sure you update the database though.
