At 44psimy car was leaning out after about 4500 to redline bumped up the pressure to 55psi got a little better but still leans from 6000-7200. should i increase psi or would it hurt my motor?

Its the tune not your fuel psi. its whatever they set your fuel table @, when you raise the fuel psi your increasing the amount of fuel that is being pushed through the injectors @ the same preset (tuned) injector fuel table rate.
Fuel controller and wideband would work- proper tune on a dyno and the street with a wideband and a true tuning solution that's not a piggyback would be MUCH better. If you're already going to spend the cash on a wideband, go ahead and look into one of the free chipping solutions for OBD1 ECUs.
