but a b16a isnt stamped on a b18c :D
unless the previous owner took a jdm gsr and put a b16 head on, this is a real type r

and b16a and b18c-r ARE THE SAME head, but the type r comes with a factory port on the intake side. internals are different, like dual valve springs in a type r, and different cams.

I was just going to ask if there was a difference you can tell, other than what was listed in the reference section, between the b16'a (b16a SiR1 and SiR2's). Dont all B VTEC's use b16 heads?

gsr = p72 casting.

b16a/b18c-r = pr3 casting.

there are differences between the 2 big difference is the intake manifold flange is different, also the p72 dosnt flow as much

it may not flow as much, but it does have smaller combustion chambers.. thus making more compression..

oh.. and the b17 GSR has a pr3 head.. its basically a b16 w/ less compression

or basicly a b16 with a longer stroke :D

from 77mm to 81.4 making the b17 an almost perfectly square deck, making a great platform to rev to the moon

ok i have a d16y7 but it has a vtec head now how do i tell what head it is??? it says p08-1 on the front is this a z6 head?
