CLIFF NOTES: 1 grant agencies give you free money to help with your first house
2 and its well worth it to move out of your rents place...
hmmm... looks like i'm in the same boat as a lot of people on here...
lmao
finally moved out of my old man's house last summer, and i do admit it's changed my life, not having to hear about how i left a fork in the sink or how i never mowed the lawn or took too long of showers...
all that bullshit out the window... the rent is SO worth it, and its always nice having an older brother with apartments to rent from at a decent price...
and i'm the same way about the just wanting a huge garage with a corner to sleep in... i was even looking in to getting a POS mobile home/trailer cause it had a HUGE garage with 3 tractor trailer size garage doors... muhahhahaha
so the reason for my reply is to inform B and anyone else looking to get a first house to check around your local area for grant agencies and the like...
there is one such place in my county that gives you grants to rehabilitate your first house as well as money for a down payment and for closing costs, and they even have a savings programs that you put in 167 for ten months, and the bank backs you 3:1, so you end up with an investment of 1667 and you get 6667 when it comes time to buy your house...
drawback is you have to go to 6, 2 or 3 hour classes once a month for the first six months, and you have to wait a minimum of 10 months to buy a house so you can finish your savings program...
i think there is at least one of these type places in every county in new york, its called the X county rural preservation company...
hopes this helps anyone looking for thir first home... free money always helps
have i redemmed my usefulness to this site?
