Yes, it is, and the reason is that it's technically considered a truck motor, which California law doesn't allow.

I'm not from CA, but that's what I heard. The CRV is considered a truck and you can't swap a truck motor into a car.

k, thanks. I was asking b/c I've heard that the laws here in B.C. are going to adopt California standards for vehicles, so I think the 1.8L's will be a safer bet.

    Cheers,

It is also illegal to have your car pass inspection when it clearly cannot, but that doesnt stop people from paying 75-100 bucks for a sticker!

All those rulse you have to deal with why I wouldn't want to live in Cali anymore. Lived there for 11 years of my life. The weather in the Oceanside area is absolutely amazing. I remember when it rained it was almost a fun thing. Living in Washington has made the rain annoying.

Haha, that was funny Blanco. Meh it's not so much rules like parental rules, it's more or less just annoying. I'd rather live in the Northwest anyways, less traffic up here too. Not as many road ragers either.

I never thought of it that way. When you put it that way it seems a lot more reasonable.

Once again Blanco has the answer to everything :p

In MA there is no such thing as the old stickers anymore. Your information is submitted and they print one up for you right out of the machine. Maybe these can be faked I don't know. The days are gone though when it was just a stack of stickers that could be, misplaced.

not that I would ever have taken advantage of the system...

True true. I think the penalty for cutting an Oak tree in Ojai/Ventura is stiffer than for murder. Seriously...
