oregon-earthquake-map.gif

each red dot represents a quake of 2.0 or more
[post=559366]Quoted post[/post]

2.0?!?!? a 2.0 really isnt shit... someone literally could fart and have it register a 2.0

I. People do not feel any Earth movement.

II. A few people might notice movement if they are at rest and/or on the upper floors of tall buildings.

III. Many people indoors feel movement. Hanging objects swing back and forth. People outdoors might not realize that an earthquake is occurring.

IV. Most people indoors feel movement. Hanging objects swing. Dishes, windows, and doors rattle. The earthquake feels like a heavy truck hitting the walls. A few people outdoors may feel movement. Parked cars rock.

V. Almost everyone feels movement. Sleeping people are awakened. Doors swing open or close. Dishes are broken. Pictures on the wall move. Small objects move or are turned over. Trees might shake. Liquids might spill out of open containers.

VI. Everyone feels movement. People have trouble walking. Objects fall from shelves. Pictures fall off walls. Furniture moves. Plaster in walls might crack. Trees and bushes shake. Damage is slight in poorly built buildings. No structural damage.

VII. People have difficulty standing. Drivers feel their cars shaking. Some furniture breaks. Loose bricks fall from buildings. Damage is slight to moderate in well-built buildings; considerable in poorly built buildings.

VIII. Drivers have trouble steering. Houses that are not bolted down might shift on their foundations. Tall structures such as towers and chimneys might twist and fall. Well-built buildings suffer slight damage. Poorly built structures suffer severe damage. Tree branches break. Hillsides might crack if the ground is wet. Water levels in wells might change.

IX. Well-built buildings suffer considerable damage. Houses that are not bolted down move off their foundations. Some underground pipes are broken. The ground cracks. Reservoirs suffer serious damage.

X. Most buildings and their foundations are destroyed. Some bridges are destroyed. Dams are seriously damaged. Large landslides occur. Water is thrown on the banks of canals, rivers, lakes. The ground cracks in large areas. Railroad tracks are bent slightly.

XI. Most buildings collapse. Some bridges are destroyed. Large cracks appear in the ground. Underground pipelines are destroyed. Railroad tracks are badly bent.

XII. Almost everything is destroyed. Objects are thrown into the air. The ground moves in waves or ripples. Large amounts of rock may move.

I want that kind of power.

The thing that gets me is the 3.2 in Mt St. Helens. I'll have to keep an eye on that.

Never, ever get Celerity going on an "end of the world" tangent.

Word to the wise. :D

Seriously though - I think it may be the end of the world. Drove up from RI today, a total of 60 miles - and drove through 4 different weather patterns. South Kingston was 78 and humid. 95/295 junction is was cloudy, warm, and sprinkling, as I got onto 146N (into Mass) it was still cloudy, but like 70 degrees.

I'm sitting at my house now, where it's sunny, dry and 68.

WTF?

I love NE.

Add tornados to the list, one swept through my parents neighborhood a few weeks ago and killed one of my neighbors and flattened a ton of my friends houses.

I've looked up into the eye of three tornados. Never been hit. They just kind of bounce over me and keep going.

Some say the end is near
Some say we'll see armageddon soon
I certainly hope we will
I sure could use a vacation from this
Bull-shit, three-ring
Circus sideshow

Of freaks here in this
Hopeless fucking
Hole we call L.A.
The only way to fix it is
To flush it all away
Any fucking time
Any fucking day
Learn to swim
See you down in
Arizona Bay

Fret for your figure
And fret for your latte
And fret for your lawsuit
And fret for your hairpiece
And fret for your Prozac
And fret for your pilot
And fret for your contract
And fret for your car

It's a bull-shit, three-ring
Circus sideshow

Of freaks here in this
Hopeless fucking
Hole we call L.A.
The only way to fix it is
To flush it all away
Any fucking time
Any fucking day
Learn to swim
See you down in
Arizona Bay

Some say a comet will fall from the sky
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves
Followed by fault lines that cannot sit still
Followed by millions of dumb-founded dipshits

Some say the end is near
Some say we'll see armageddon soon
I certainly hope we will
I sure could use a vacation from this

Stupid shit
Silly shit
Stupid shit

One great big festering neon distraction
I've a suggestion to keep you all occupied

Learn to swim... Learn to swim... Learn to swim... Learn to swim...

Mom's gonna fix it all soon
Mom's coming 'round to put it back the way it oughta be

Learn to swim... Learn to swim... Learn to swim... Learn to swim...

Fuck L. Ron Hubbard
And fuck all his clones
Fuck all these gun-toting
Hip gangster wanna-bes

Learn to swim... Learn to swim... Learn to swim... Learn to swim...

Fuck retro anything
Fuck your tattoos
Fuck all you junkies
And fuck your short memory

Learn to swim... Learn to swim... Learn to swim... Learn to swim...

Fuck smilie glad-hands with hidden agendas
Fuck these dysfunctional, insecure actresses

Learn to swim... Learn to swim... Learn to swim... Learn to swim...

I'm praying for rain
I'm praying for tidal waves
I wanna see the ground give way
I wanna watch it all go down
Mom, please flush it all away
I wanna see it go right in and down
I wanna watch it go right in
Watch you flush it all away

Yeah, time to bring it down again
Yeah, don't just call a pessimist
Try and read between the lines

And I can't imagine why you wouldn't
Welcome any change, my friend

I wanna see it come down
Plug it down
Suck it down
Flush it down
