I'm sure lots of you guys heard about raising the top hat to gain like an inch of travel when lowering the car. I want to lower my car using this method with the stock suspension; Since the springs have preload, wouldn't raised top hats cause a higher preload(the spring rates are progressive right)? Would this cause damage to the shocks since it's being pulled on harder than stock or will the weight of the car counter-act that?
Thanks
