im going to get .030 shaved off the head when im changing the headgasket, should have no interference issues, and lol dude I got that stand for $34.99 with a coupon, does plenty well for what I need it for

also question , in theory I can get the d16a1 distributor to fire if I buy a external coil cap with my exsiting ignition system ? also will a d/b series cam cap fit in place of the exhaust cam sensor ? I know gen 4 zc's have caps

A "D" series cap should fit as the DOHC ZC is basically a D16A9. A DOHC D series. Do you have a micrometer or dial caliper? If so, I have a 4th gen DOHC ZC and can measure the cap or head.

$34.99 still sounds a little steep as the damn tread is flying off of it.

sitting on the pallet and tire was just what I sat it on at work litearally for a whole 24hrs before I went and bought the harbor freight stand, im such a sinner , and yes the tire is somthing shoob would use lol

I have not only brought this car back from the dead sitting with a seized engine , locked carb, bad fuel pump, tank full of rust, clogged fuel lines, and sitting under a pine tree for YEARS to a daily driven vehicle that's is in the process of becoming more powerful and one of a kind than it ever has been , and Im the first person on the east coast to dohc d16 swap a first gen, rurnt

... Only person that YOU know of.

As for the 1200, I'll give credit where it is due. The car is still running and you did take that green stripe off of the side.

Except he hasn't done it yet. He bought the engine and THEN started to research how to do the swap...

no ive done plenty of research before doing the swap, only thing that put a backfire in my plan was unknowingly when I picked up the d16a1 I did not know that you were stuck using the cg transmission because the input shaft size , but not really a big deal because the cg transmission is bulletproof, but means I have to use more expensive custom axles , but at this point im not going to let $600-700 in axles make me change swaps , side note, to pay for the axles, the complete 1200 swap turnkey is sold for $900 to a local guy soon as it comes out of the car , that pays for the axles and a few misc things

Lol a swap kit is not available that im aware of ? lolol ive got mount templates off the interwebs

soo installed my minty fresh PM7 DOHC ZC head on the A1 bottom end today and installed the ZC cams to match, still waiting and my gates timing belt/water pump kit to show up, still have to install the A1 cam gears (have to use them) and go from there I guess, this is my lunch break build , everything is going together smoothly and everything is SOO clean its nice lol im ready for it to be powering the 79 already, every gasket/seal on the engine is getting changed before it even gets near a engine bay, pretty excited to see how my d16zc hybrid engine runs , or detonates into oblivion on first start up burning the car to the ground

using the pm7 head also makes doing the swap easier, instead of using the stock big bulky integra front engine mount I can use 88-91 style below the cam-gears right at the factory engine mount location in the 79

It has gear drive on the camshafts? Or, is this just Hillbilly Vernacular calling cam pulleys "Gears". If it has a timing belt, there are no "Gears" for the cam drive system.

Yes my hillbilly vernacular, I still need to install the a1 cam pulley setup to the zc head/cams
