new car for me

ok. with this new promotion that i got i have decided to buy a new car. the civic will be paid off very shortly and i have decided to keep it. i am planning on trading in my Mustang and get another car as a daily driver so the civic can be an all out project car.

i am planning on making the purchase between now and next spring.

i always take a long time to find a car because i want it to be the exact car i want. when i was buying my Mustang it took me nearly 4 months cuz i'm so damn picky.
one big reason i want to take such a long time is so it allows me to do plenty of research on the cars i'm looking into and figure it out if that car will suit my needs/wants.

i have listed the cars in my poll according to how seriously i am considering it. my top 2 cars at the moment are the Supra and the Lancer EVO( i decided to take a look at it a little more after driving Jason's) but coming in strongly in 3rd place is the Skyline.
the Skyline was my first choice but because of the price($40K) and insurance(it's considered a exotic car) i have decided to place it in the number 3 slot. i can have nearly the same performance out of a Turbo Supra for half the price.

PS- if you decided to write in a car please tell me why i should consider it.

get the skyline. its exotic, and if you really want to turn heads THATS the car to get. otherwise, get urself a nice fast domestic and be done with it...

i was very strongly in favor of the R33 but it's freakin $40K, insurance is gonna ripped me a new asshole, and it takes like 6 months to get it once i decide to cough up 10% of the sale price to Motorex.

i can probably have a 700hp Supra for the price i will pay for that Skyline.
1997 Supra Turbo = $20-25,000
mods to reach 700hp goal = $15-20,000
Total = $35-45,000

1996 Skyline R33 GT-R = $40,000
mods to reach 700hp goal = $15-20,000
Total = $55-60,000

yeah, after doing the math i have chosen to get the Supra over the Skyline. maybe once i become filthy rich, after i sue McDonalds for having really hot coffee, i will purchase the Skyline and mod it.

if i was to get a Supra and mod it i wouldn't want it to have any more than say 450-500hp cuz then it wouldn't be very docile. i think with that much power i should be able to rip off like a mid-to-high 11 et, right?

i've seen 700hp street supra's ray and they CAN BE CALM... its all up to the driver and how you choose to drive the car as well as how much you boost on the street...

of course realistically you wouldnt boost that much EVERYDAY, but maybe on weekends...

with 450-550whp, im pretty sure you can pull a high 11? lemme check with my buddy and see how much he's puttin down and how fast he went in the quarter

lets just say its close to the heart.

i also prefer the look of the 2 over the other evos. its a very well rounded car. ive seen one autox locally... it was an import. it had ~45k on it i believe, and did extremely well in its class.

the 4dr version of my car is also the base chassis for the evo 2.

I saw one of each sittin side by side yesterday. same fucking car, only difference is the body styling.
