obd o to obd1

my buddy is having a problem and i cant figure it out yet he just swaped a b16 1st gen to his civic dx and he converted to obd 1 the car runs and drives but the alternator gets hot and smell like something is burning does he need to change any of the wiring to the alternator? what could be happening any ideas. thanks.

Alt. wiring is the same.
I say change the alternator or at least pull it out to be tested.
Also check tension on that belt, maybe it's creating friction by being loose. Can't imagine it getting that hot, but i can imagine it stinkin =)
