and MAX octane sold here is NOT 91, I get 100 at the pump it's just way spensive.
Oh.. so it's MAX 91 that everyone is complaining about ?
Does anyone actually know how gasoline works ? It's elevation. in Colorado they have 91 tops as well. Chemistry is funny that way.

But CA is not at the same elevation CO is. Well, not everywhere, anyway. Live by the beach for a while, you'll realize you're at like 200ft elevation, but in the mtns you can be up to about 8k.

Anything over a consistent 1000 feet gets lowered octanes. Less Oxygen in the air, more can be had in the gas. I would be excited about it.
At sea level, you're fighting knock all the time. If you're turboed at sea level you NEED high octane to remove some of the oxygen.
