The problem with the Miata chassis is no one with long legs can drive it. Until they make an interior that can handle someone over 6' it is a no go in my book.

I am actually an former Miata owner, I measure 6'1", and yes it was cramped in their. The newer miatas have a tad more room but not a substantial amount.
I owned a 97, and to be honest is was a fun car, very feminene but fun. The guys who run spec miata do adjust the seats to cater to larger/taller people.
One thing I do know is that even the non reinforced bottom end of the NA miata, it can handle boost very very well, plus the car weighed in at 2220lbs~ for the '97 year.
Plus is RWD!!!!!

I wanna miata...but a turbocharged 1.8 with 178 hp...? athetic:
If it's still the same Miata 1.8 with forged internals that came in the Escort GT, that thing will handle 14 psi of boost.
But remember the Top of the line miata now only has 140hp, so a small turbo that is going on the car is adding quite a sufficient amount of power...
