My friend recently turbocharged his del sol. Ghetto poor turbocharge that is. His setup consists of a Vortech FMU, a Teo4h turbo, and ghetto charge pipes. Recently we finished the project and took it for a test run and saw a big oil mess in the engine area. At first we thought it was a fitting of the oil return or oil inlet line. But no leaks. Then we took the charge pipe off and saw a big puddle of oil in the turbo and pipe. Now our question is what went wrong here. We are using 1/4 high psi rubber hose for the oil return to the oil pan, and 1/4 hose to the inlet. Could it be the hoses that are to big? Or is the turbo that is messtup?? Maybe the seal were blown the pressure of the oil already before we got the turbo. The turbo looked fine when we got it. It was never full of oil no where and has hardly and shaft play.

your feed should be -3, or in lame-piping size, 3/16"
your return should be -10, or 10/16" = 5/8"
your return is ALL gravity. it needs to go into the pan STRAIGHT DOWN, and dump into the pan ABOVE the fill level.

But will the turbo be any good after we replace the oil lines with the correct sizes?? Or we will have to buy new seals for it?? Or a new turbo rather?? Thanks for the info...ivan

really depends on how bad it was damaged... i can't say that over the net
