I'm thinking of putting CTR pistons into my first gen b16. What compression would I get and can I run 91-octane fuel safely? If not would it be worth it to get ITR pistons?

um, your compression would not be affected,

itr pistons do not directly bolt onto b16 rods... some modification is needed however ctr pistons are plug n play

usdm b16 c/r = 10.205320397414986
usdm b16 with itr pistons = 10.194654591216547
usdm b16 with ctr pistons = 10.801068956759683
this can all be found on this site which i found in the HS FAQ forum when building my motor http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/compcal...lc/compcalc.php
*edit . . . i'm running 11.1 to 1 compression and use 93 or 94 octane at all times

yes you can run 91 octane on that motor you wanna build..2 reasons,1 thats all there is bro.2 can normal type-r's run pump gas-yes...good luck..tell me how it runs when your done

if you put CTR pistons in a B16a block, you will have a higher compression ratio than any type-r, so your point B is not valid.
you should be ok on 91 octane, get it tuned.

Mike, you shoot down reason #2 and don't say ANYTHING about reason #1????????? How bout 93 octane? Or 100? Or 110? It's called race gas guy. Thanx for the worthless post though.
