When I shift around 3-3500 I get a slight rattle coming from the bottom-center portion of the car. Also, when I am normally driving and shift to a gear then go to about 4000 RPM's and just let off of the gas peddle, the back pressure seems to be making the exhaust rattle. It isn't coming from the rear. It sounds like the catalytic converter is rattling to me. Does that sound right? BTW, The car is a bone stock 2000 GSR with 59,000 miles on it.

Yeah, I actually didn't think of that. Thanks man.

Whats the cure? Take the heat shield off or make it as an excuse to get a full exhaust with header? :p

I drive a 94 cx and recently.. within the last few weeks removed my head shield from the downpipe. The mounts on the upper half were completely rusted off. I have no tach so I do not know the RPM but 3-4ish sounds about right.

Take a look at your downpipe heatshield, after it's cooled off that is.

It SHOULD be replaced but mine hasn't been yet o_O
