that v6 civic doesn't even look that quick and the reason I bet he did it was to try an drift it, but it doesn't seem right(it doesn't pull hard enough) you need to be able to rev up quicker. and they went really expensive for it, if you notice it is using a porche trans mission(its mounted to the rear end) very high dollar trans, and everything else had to be fabbed up to work like the drive shaft and it tube(pretty much a big thick pipe to house the drive shaft and connect the engine to the rear end). ann the rear suspension and front cross member.
if you went on a cheaper budget, and could do all the work your self you could have it done for less than a grand depending on where you get everything. I would use a 1st gen rx7 rearend its a solid axle, narrow and has rear disc brakes(alot easier to mount, just get a latter bar kit from summit or get all the rod ends and make your own) and what ever engine you use you would need to make a front cross member/engine cradle. and just make the mounts. if you use an automatic trans the shifter would be cake, if you use a stick the easiest thing to do would be to mount the engine and trans to where the shifter sits right in the hole where it should be even if the engine sits against the radiator support. but if not you could cut a new hole and try to make a new center console. but again it all depends on what part you decide to use. I am doing a crazy swap right now but its on pause thanks to a sh**ty welder and some engine rebuild issues, I am putting an RWD Nissan 300zx turbo 3.0l v6 into a 94 geo tracker. All i need to do is make the engine and transmission mounts and put it all together when I get the engine back. If I don't break anything it should be nasty quick. the tracker is lighter than the 300 and the gears are alot taller, the 300 rear end is a 3.80 something and the geo use like a 5.30 something.
to think that mustang guys swap to 4.10 gears and have alot of fun at the track. I'm probably going to have a top speed of like 80-100 or so. but its going to take off like a bat out of hell, lol. If I can stuff a fat enough tire On the geo wheels, it sleeper, its going to look all stock, I might get the original wheels banded(they weld a band to it to make them wider, its an old school trick from the 70 Mustang's and Camaro's) and just use some m/t street slicks, lol.
PS. I'm looking for a cheap turbo t3 flange, or ideas for a junkyard turbo(what cars) I'm thinking toward the Benz t3 weird looking exhaust housing but I'm sure I could make it work, but i don't like that is is only oil cooled/ not coolant. I think its a KKK brand but its a t3. any other ideas for a decent t3, I just want like 8-10psi on the daily and about 15-20psi on the track days.
