What Rpm Does Vtec Kick In At?

What RPM does VTEC kick in at on the D16Z6 and the H22a??

I beleive it's 4800rpm for the D16Z6. Based on my tech manual and these 2 sites: Site #1 and Site #2

The stock D16Z6 is 4800 rpms. I was just playing with my p28 last night.

wow this is an old thread....time to bring it back from the dead haha....but if anyone does see this just making sure the h22a vtec kicks in at 5200? and what should i set it to if i get a vtec controller??

first, start a new thread. it's better that way.

second, don't you think that honda spent tons of hours and money researching where to set it. me personally, i would put it where it is set from the factory. other people will tell you 4500 or 5500. depends on how much tuning you do. i would want a car that is as reliable as it is from the factory.
