I just need to learn as much as I can before I tackle that next stage.

Other than crash safety, I think a (smallish) turbo civic might be the perfect four seater everyday sports car. I am having so much fun I even put the rx7 in storage early. Definitely more fun than last years winter car (alltrac turbo celica).

Well...if your in the Michigan area...Then goto Redpepperracing.com...and look up CRXfanantic or Bullet....they also are hard core Honda guys and they can help you in more ways than one. They also have a knack for finding decent shells for other projects...
