I have $1500 at the moment to spend for a swap. Any ideas please? I'm looking to turbo this setup later on. I just want a strong motor with some power, I don't car about gas either. I'm looking at the B series.

Shift linkage is the 2 bars that run from the tranny to to shift lever. Make sure you replace the linkage pin located on the tranny side of the linkage. OEM P/N 94305-80222 Do not reuse the old one! These are sprung steel and can vibrate out if weakened from reuse. Also, make sure you get the engine harness with the motor. He's not selling the ECU with the motor? I would recommend a P-72 ECU. You'll also need a B18 exhaust manifold. I think that's everything but I might be missing something.

No, the P72 is not needed but is simply a recommendation. I only recommend it as a good start for any later upgrade to a GSR head and intake. Since GSR head swap is a real common upgrade for this motor then a P72 is my best recommendation to start with. But if all you want is the stock LS OBD1 ECU then it's the P75, which is for a B18B1. Or if you want the original ECU for that B18A1, it's the PR4 (not recommended).
If anything, I would recommend the LS ECU for now, and then later switching to a chipped and tuned P28. The P72 will only be applicable if he were to install a GS-R intake with it's butterfly secondaries. Any other B-series manifold isn't going to have those. Since there are many other B-series head and intake options available, I'd say hold off on the P72...
Honestly, it all comes down to price. What's gonna be cheaper now and in the long run. Well lets see... You can pick up just about any ECU, no matter the number, for about the same price off ebay. i.e. not that much difference in price. So it all falls back to what you plan on doing later down the road with your car. Is it really gonna be cheaper to buy one ECU now and then have to replace it with a different one down the road because the one you bought doesn't have the functionality you need? I would think buying one ECU now that would work for you down the road is a lot cheaper than buying a second ECU later to replace the one you already bought. Common sense says not to spend more money on something if you don't have to, it's just a waste. So why not get something that will give you the options of both vtec and the GSR secondaries? After all, it's about the same price and it's not like a P72 can't be chipped either. Just remember to stick with an OBD1 ECU when you choose.
