Wanting to put the h22 into my sol. Seeing if anyone on here has experience with thiis hands on and know what definate problems I will have. Buyin complete swap from hmotorsonline.com.

Its not a drop in like a b series. You need aftermarket mounts, axles, and shift linkage. Pretty sure the H22 has a cable actuated clutch, so you will need to do something about that.

you have to lengthen some wires on your stock harness, get custom mounts, and axles. dont skimp or you will regret it. you need a prelude shifter assembly, and you will have to cut a small hole in your firewall for the cable to pass through.

Hmotorsonline.com basically gives me everything I need from the right fittin axels down to the ecu and hasport mounts($450). I knew the fire wall needed the extra space for the shift cable thing. Guess it hits the firewall and prevents shifting. I have the d16z6 harness I'm assuming it won't work with the h??

Your stock engine harness will have to be rewired for the H-series swap. When you buy your swap from HMO they provide the stock engine harness that comes off that motor. Both your stock engine harness and the H-series harness will have to be combined to work.

I'm no electrician so I'll have to have someone wire it up. What's a good price so I know I'm not gettin raped? This will be my first swap. I know pol say go b but I want the h no matter what. The drop in shouldn't be too hard. The hasports will line right up to the stock mount in the engine bay I would think but I heard I might have to move the tranny one over or some shit. True?

First off, an H22 is hydraulic clutch, cable shifter.

Motor Mounts will have to be purchased. Explicit Speed Performance Quality mounts, not hasport pretty, but have yet to break a set (out of 12 h/f turbo swaps)

Axels you can go a different route. Ebay (like 120) for decent axels, Hasport (300), or build your own (good if the swap comes with axels) (you can use your stock drivers side, you have to change the nuckle on the passenger sie that attaches to the trans) (you will have all the parts so no cost!!)

Cable shifter... the lines have to be ran so they are not bent at too tight of an angle. Use the prelude shifter (you will need to cover the hole from the old shift linkage and either weld in 4 nus on top or try ans screw on 4 on the longer bolts under the car. the easier wat it to weld. they will las longer especially when yankin on the shifter. The bes way to run your cables is through the fire wall just under the center console. this way you run less risk of hitting your wire harness with the larger Bore bit (minimum 1.5 in hole). from there you can run the cables to the shifter (under the carpet) and to the transmission.

Wiring.... Raywire (Rywire - Online Store) will make you a harness (from your single cam and the h22/23) that will work fine with the h22 ecu. you have another option, you can mix and match to build a jumper harness in the two places where the hanesses meet. take about 3 hours and will be plug and play. this is the dash connector to ecu and dash connector to engine harness, about 40 wires total (obd2 will have a few left over but you can wire the diognostip port up for trouble codes)

any questions hit me up.... 6785446472

dude....if everyone worked like you on this website i dont think reposts would ever happen. best info ive had. them places are legit and rather fair prices good looks. which ecu is the better choice though. they offer the chipped p28, stock p13, or obd2a/b....p28 ecu will not look for EGR, Knock, IAB, and Crank sensors. whats the deal with that? any ideas on that situation? i plan on doin fully built n/a if that matters in the choice.

If you're planning on a build then I'd go with the chipped P28. They're very easy to tune, and if you're building the engine, then you'll definitely want to tune...

Whats up the exhaust? Is there del sol "h friendly" exhaust or do I have to cut n mod the prelude one? The d exhaust won't work??

Exhaust systems should be purchased for the chassis you're working with, not the engine. Purchase an exhaust for a Del Sol and have an exhaust shop modify it if needed...

yea one more thing. wtf is up with this site saying my profile is under review? cause i cant add pix, change shit, nothing. its like frozen. i can only add and reply to posts and its irritating me.

I know this is an H22 to Del Sol swap but I cant post my own threads yet because I'm still a 'noob' to the forum, but I am wanting to put an H22 in my 98 EK. I have the mounts, a new clutch, plan on getting a lighter flywheel, timing belts and water pump. I know I need axles as well and plan on getting them from hasport.com. Its a full swap with ECU and wiring harness. Now my questions are would I need to alter the wiring harness in any way (I work on military aircraft wiring systems so I can do that myself if I can get some schematics), and do I need to alter the shift linkage like the Del Sol in this post? Again sorry for asking about an EK on a Del Sol post but this is the newest thread about h22's and a lot of good info and knowledgeable people here too. Thanks for all the help.

you can start your own thread as a greenhorn.

yes you need to alter the wiring harness, youll need to at least wire for VTEC and the knock sensor, and a couple other small mods IIRC
yes you need to alter the shift linkage, its a cable driven shifter as stated above, whereas ek's have a linkage
search around, this info is all over the web.
