500hp daily wont and will not happen it will tear up fast cause you being 18 wont keep your foot out of it and possibly kill yourself so dont have your goal to be on top first ive rode in a 736hp civic and that was real sketchy fun but sketchy 250hp to 300hp is safe to daily your getting way in over your head bro start of small then if you feel like you want more go bigger but 7000 wont get you 500 hp trust someone who has done there research. presicion p6262 turbo 1200.00 thats just the turbo. need i say more?

agreed, but in reality my build when i was his age was that orange crx with the b18a1 with just I/H/E, and it MIGHT have made 130 to the wheels, and it felt stupid ridiculous fast, shit it was easily the fastest car at my high school, and at 18 thats doin it big, this kid needs to start with a simple swap like I said, put intake header and exhast on it like I said, and go from there, if he isnt happy with that power then boost it, and touch in the 200hp range, and its gonna be stupid fast still and reliable with a good tune, i dont think kids realise how quick they can go with such little power, i mean shit for example a jdm b16a makes 160 factory, thats when it was a brand new engine right off the assembly line, mines got a little over 200,000 miles on it today, and it might be baking 140 to the wheels now, and its deff one of the quickest cars around town

im not saying what your saying is an insult at all man i actually appreciate everything you are telling me a lot :) what about 400 hp though? this car is going to be a daily driver/weekend monster. thats why i want so much power. but is 400hp still scary? what if i bought all the parts that had to potential of getting me to my power goal but only put the ones on that are necessary to get me to 250 to lets say 350 until i do have the skill to handle 500 would that be possible?

Any thing is possible with the money to go along with it. Seriously though if it were me I would build 250 to maybe 300 and run that for a while. I am also23 and have had a track car in the past, as well as know a rather large group of people that run massive amounts of power in there DD. They are usually spending alot of money maintaining the cars just to keep them in driving condition. with that much power and not alot of skill your clutch will weep, your going to torture axles and half shafts, and other nagging bits that are going to keep you from having fun with the car. From my experience 300 is a very manageable and relatively easy goal to reach where you will not be breaking parts left and right and the engine will not be on the border of ripping its self apart. Being that this is your first build start low and work your way up. You are going to run into problems and the car will me more leaniant to a new tuner. You really need to know what your doing when you want to go for a goal that high. It's a fantastic hobby and I would hate to see you start and get so fustrated that you just give up on the car just because it wont idle or even start up. Personaly I'm building a Del Sol right now as well and looking at a B18 or B16, and if I were you I would be putting in a B18 maybe do a few internal mods then boost it. It is something that every one has done so there is alot of documentation on it and you will make some good power. This will also give you time to learn tuning, wiring, and a base on some engine building. It will also give you time to do suspension and chasis regidity (ie. a cage and other bracing) which is something often looked over by new builders wanting POWER!!!!!! as Jermey Clarkson would so eliquintly put it. Then if you decide to run this with more ponys as your skill goes up or decide this would be a great track car and put someting else on the street all the more power too you. This is gonna make me sound like an old fart, but I was 18 too once and had a 250HP Subaru that was AWD and it got me in to enough trouble. I would hate to see some ones pride and joy end up rubber side up in a ditch. Just remember the instant it becomes a project car as well as a DD you are no longer building just for power, you are also building for reliability. Those two things tend to be inversely proportionate to each other. Again what ever you decide to do good luck with it this can be alot of fun if you can fight through the frustrations.

haha your dont realise its not working on it to make it faster, its working on it to keep it running, stopping leaks, working out wiring bugs, DAILY, truly BUILDING a car isnt a slap it together and DD it thing, its a long downtime process of tuning, research, and effort, im telling you, your getting over your head, and what kind of budget are you on honestly, im not being rude bro, im being realistic, trust me

thanks alot for all the help bro i know your not trying to be rude. but my budget for right now is around 7k. im going to listen to you guys and im going to go for around 350. and stick with that for a while. until i get the hang of it all.

i really appreciate all of this bro and i think im going to just do the b18c1 in the delsol and boost it to get around 300 to 350hp and stick with that for a while. but i still need help on how to obtain that.

So have u decided on a chassis yet ? i vote 88-81 ef honda , crx or civic hatchback only, and save yourself the time and effort and get a si chassis to begin with, saves tons of trouble

thanks alot bro i really appreciate it all. so for the b18c1 what would i need to do to it to reach 300 to 350hp? i think im going to stay away from 500hp until i get enough money going to get another car and build on an engine that will be specifically for drag racing. but for now im going to do the del sol with the b18c1 and maybe boost it. and once i get to around 350 im going to stop and just have fun.

eg hatch is a good platform, del slow is heavy, ef is where its at im tellin u, pick up a crx

True fact is true. Del Sol's are heavy either way get the car and then work on the swap there is going to be little things here and there you will need to take care of to get it running. After that is all sorted out then (depending on the swaps state) you can screw around with internal mods and such or boost it. The process for putting a turbo on a car though is a little more in depth then just buying the kit and slapping it on. You can go that route but I can say that the car will not run correctly until you address your fuel system. Turbos put more air into the engine ie you will need to up your fuel flow as well. Hence why putting a turbo on a car can get pricy quick there are alot of extra parts needed. You are also going to want to take a look at the suspension set up on what ever you get, you're going to want to eliminate any roll your going to get from increasing the TQ you are putting down.

but the delsols look the best. i dont like how the ef and the crx look for some reason. its either going to be an eg or the delsol. the delsol is only a few hundred pounds heavier than the eg so if i do some carbon fiber parts it will be the same weight if not lighter than the eg. but i want my car to look nice and be fast.

yeah i know i am going to do a complete fuel upgrade and everything and i honestly dont know that much about suspension but i am goin to look it all up and upgrade all the necessary parts.

walboro 255 fuel pump

Ecu:
p28 chipped with Hondata s300
Rywire Jumper harness
Rywire engine harness with quick disconnect

now mind you this is all the stuff i will be buying im still unshur what turbo setup i want to go with.

It can be lighter than a stock hatch, but honestly I agree with you. I like the way the Del Sol's look hence why I am building one. That's another aspect to this hobby do what you like others have there opinions and you have yours. That is why when you go to the track you see random stuff. Hell the last time I went there was a diesel powered Vette Stingray, and a Toyota Starlet powered by a 900HP rotary engine.

After saying that the swap will require a few extra parts for the Sol as its a shorter wheel base.

thanks alot. what does all of this stuff come out to? and were are you buying it from? cause i know there are some serious price differences depending on the sites you go to? and whats your power goal? please let me know what turbo you go with

haha damn people really think out of the box now a days huh. they sound cool though. and what extra parts will it require?

if u like the del sol go for it, but i can tell u one thing from experience, buying all these expensive ass carbon fiber panels is gonna have no pay off in the end, lol its cosmetics mostly

most of my stuff is coming from T1RaceDevelopment.com turbo im leaning toward is a precision pte 6262 good for up to 680hp. now my hp goals are 350-400 just to have fun with while i drive im not gonna dog the shit out of my car like most people would but that doesnt mean im not gonna have fun in it either.
